Who we are
Your friendly hosts Ken & Steve settled in Golden Bay / Mohua several years ago, after escaping the North Island (and the US before that!) We feel blessed to live in such an amazing landscape, surrounded by oceans and mountains with lots of birds and other wildlife.
We previously owned and operated the local Mohua Motels for a few years, which taught us the secrets of how to provide a memorable stay for guests and visitors to Golden Bay. Then fortunately we decided to adopt a less hectic lifestyle, and switched our efforts to developing Labyrinth Gardens as both a beautiful home and relaxing visitor accommodation. We live on the property, in the renovated original cottage. The main Guest House is reserved for guests only.
Steve has a keen interest in gardening and plants, as well as running and cycling whenever he gets the chance. He always goes the extra distance to make sure all the guests are well looked after.
Ken can often be found near a computer or in the kitchen. He takes care of the bookings and other business aspects of Labyrinth Gardens.
Where we are
We are tucked away at the very end of Labyrinth Lane, next to the Labyrinth Rocks Park, and just a few minutes from Tākaka Village centre.
